Over the past few weeks, the situation unfolding in the Gulf and Lebanon has weighed heavily on us as a team.
Samira is based in Dubai, Kevin, our Elite Performance Advisor, knows from his time leading Special Forces how challenging these situations can be, and I had more than 17 years in the region.
Leaders we work with are based there, and friends and former colleagues live there.
So we wanted to do something useful rather than just watch from a distance. We've spent the past couple of weeks putting together a guide: Leading in Uncertainty: A Manual for Executives and Entrepreneurs in the Gulf.
We're sharing it here today instead of what I'd originally planned. While it was written specifically for leaders in the region and the challenges they're facing, a lot of the content remains highly relevant.
The science of how your brain responds to sustained pressure doesn't change by geography. Neither does the challenge of making decisions under uncertainty, showing up for your team when you're running on fumes, or finding the resilience to keep going when the ground keeps shifting.
These are universal leadership challenges. We just wrote this for those of you in the front line right now.
We hope you can find something useful in it.
